My focus in my work is on connection. I believe the only way people can really heal is within a safe and respectful space, with someone that they trust to share their story. I am interested in assisting people to understand themselves better and to navigate the complex and often disorienting journey through mental illness. I seek to provide accurate diagnosis and evidence-based treatment, with a maintained focus on the individual themselves, their own goals and aspirations, and with a broad sense of what it really means to be "well". My other passions are Existential Philosophy and Psychotherapy, which inform my practice and personal perspective on life. I am passionate about understanding the effects of experiences in shaping an individual, and the specific experiences that they might seek in order to heal. For many, this might be the experience of therapy - of a trusted relationship with another human. For others, it might be a matter of making changes to their lives, relationships and their philosophical perspective on the world. At times it can involve medication, but generally, my focus is on people as complex entities, with many broad dimensions, and not just a collection of chemicals!
